About Rogue Ink

What’s Rogue Ink?

That’s a bit of an existential question, so we’re going to get a little deep on you and tell you what Rogue Ink is not. Rogue Ink is not a business blog. We like to think of it as a pub where entrepreneurs and writers can hang out, shoot the shit, and laugh at the mistakes we make while downing a few pints and making jokes about weevils.

Occasionally the proprietress stands on a chair and rants about bad grammar, which act is generally accompanied by much whistling, shouting, and playful dart-throwing. We’re not here to give you 10 Ways to Market or 18 Best Copywriting Practices. We’re here to kick back, chat about writing, and feel a little better about going back to our small business the next day.

We named this pub the Lusty Weevil during Great Comment Debacle of May 2008, in which we also determined WHY Rogue Ink is not a business blog, so you might want to go check it out.

Who’s the Proprietress?

Taylor Lindstrom, affectionately called Tei, which is pronounced like the letter, or the favored British beverage, or the musical note (do-re-mi-fa-so-la-). She’s been a freelance copywriter for eight years, and in that time she’s discovered that while she always knows what she’s doing with pen and paper, she often has no clue what she’s doing with business-running. Rogue Ink is here to help you learn from her mistakes and encourage everyone to have a good laugh. We’re all in this one together, and if we’re not, we can at least make a good party of it.

Can I Hire Her to Write for Me?

You bet your buttered biscuits you can. Contact her in any of the following ways to talk about your business, what it needs, and how she can deliver some kick-ass copy for you. Warning: she is generally much better behaved via email and her business site than she is on this blog. She realizes this may be disappointing, but unfortunately it also allows her to keep clients.

Her website:

Her email: taylor @ or tei @, depending on how formal or informal you feel about your missive.

Her AIM: teirogue

Her Yahoo IM: rogueecho

Her Twitter: rogueink

She’ll be trying to consolidate those in the future, but first she has to assassinate the bastards that stole the IM name ‘rogueink’. What with her understanding of the web being what it is, this may take some time.

  1. You are fucking hilarious. I don’t think I’ve ever related to someone as much as with your last line. I’m currently drowning in my technical illiteracy too. Wah.

It sucks you don’t live in NY anymore, I am in dire need of some cool new friends.

  2. Oh-hoh, you picked a good weekend to ask about that, my friend. I’m back in NYC for the moment for reasons I have to go get into in a blog post, but I know some very awesome people you should meet.

  3. Well they can get to know me well if you direct them to MakeItbetter. If they agree that I am not crazy, I don’t drink much, but I eat well, so have them send some love. 🙂

  4. Hey Tei! I can’t seem to find an email addy for you so I’m posting this here…I don’t know how long you’ve lived in Boulder but if you haven’t discovered Hoshi Motors – – check them out. They specialize in Honda repair (although I don’t know if they do body work) and they’re fabulous. I’m in Denver so it’s a bit out of my way, but my mother lives in Louisville and has been taking her hondas to them for 20 years.

  5. Nicole: Will do.

Lisa: This is hilarious. I dated the son of Hoshi Motors’ owner. I know all about ’em. Thanks for the recommendation!

You didn’t link to your blog, mojo. How am I supposed to find you?

Oh, no, wait. You did earlier. It’s all good. Dude, insatiable curiosity will kill me.

  14. I am looking forward to the day I can say I am a writer. So far, it’s awkward to say to people that I WANT to be a writer… but I’m really starting to get the hang of saying it to myself, whose opinion is quite crucial in this whole deal.

Anyways, I just subscribed today, and am glad I did! Looking forward to reading more. Uhh, when I’m not .. ummmm… writing, that is. Yeah.

  15. Tei, I hope you’ll forgive me – and/or not take this the wrong way, but I just sent you a Facebook friend request. I know, I know, I should have knowm better, shouldn’t I? It’s just that I feel an affinity with you, from your candid style, your subject matter and your struggles. I think it was your recent post about caffeine that pushed me over the edge. I was going to publish a response of my own, but it didn’t happen tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway, this is just to let you know your words, work and wit is appreciated way down under in Melbourne, Australia! 🙂

    Keep it up, Matt
